It was a very hot Sunday afternoon. Nothing unusual except the large number of people gathered at the church. I totally forgot it was Palm Sunday. Start of Holy Week so I decided to spend some time at San Pedro Cathedral . (para sabihin goodboy) ![]()
San Pedro Cathedral has always been one of my favorite spots in Davao City. It somewhat reminds me of the conquistador era we’ve seen on movies where Spaniards still rules the country. Well actually the cathedral was built during the time of Spaniards, around 1847 according to local historians. It is considered the oldest church in the city. The Cathedral along with its Pieta statues and Sculptures symbolizes the depth of Christianism in the Davao.
Every Sunday a huge crowd of both worshippers and vendors gathered here at San Pedro Cathedral. Located infront of City Hall. Like a beacon at the center of the city , providing spiritual growth and guidance to Davaoeños.
