Davao City has always been home for many Italian restaurant and Spirale Ristorante is one of them.
I always enjoyed eating italian food, it makes me feel like a mafioso (italian word for member of a mafia.)
Aside from that I always admire how this type of cuisine brings out the natural flavor of ingredients and the abundance of taste.
Me and Chin (my Girlfriend) decided to have dinner at Spirale which is by the way now available at Abreeza Mall , Davao City. You could find it outside the mall and If I recall correctly it’s beside Hanoi restaurant. If you’re not familiar with the place then just simply ask any stationed guards or Concierge, definitely they could guide you.
The restaurant is cozy, about 20-30/40 people seating capacity. Ambience is quite good , a comfortable place for a dinner talk with friends or loved ones. I noticed some wine bottles and pans added to the interior which enhanced style to the place.
Whenever I go into an italian restaurant I always make sure to check out the special pasta dishes they offer. For this particular visit I tried their Vongole Ai Chorizo.Vongole in italian means small clams. I was given an option to choose from three kinds of pasta ; either Spaghetti , Penne or Pesto . Since spaghetti is too mainstream and pesto is just not for me I have it in penne instead.
I’m sorry about the quality of the pictures. I don’t have nice cameras yet and I’m not that good with photography either.hehe
I was kinda expecting for this dish to be spicy like fra diavolo . Well not that close really, luckily the waiter have it spiced up for me. The clams and the penne combination is perfect for my taste , especially those stewed tomatoes and chorizo stuffed along with the penne – Nam! Nam! ![]()
Another dish we had was Canneloni , a baked style pasta. Stuffed with a creamy chicken mixture and topped with mozarella cheese and pesto sauce.
The dish looks delicious , but I wasn’t really amazed by the taste of it. It lacks flavor. Luckily there’s a parmesan cheese on our table to add taste to this sad dish. Next time I would definitely try a different baked pasta . I bet they have a lot more to offer than this one.
And lastly for dessert , we had a Pistachio cake. The cake was full of texture and it’s kinda delicious in a unique way.
I’ll definitely be back here to try more of their pasta and of course pizza and wines. Do try to visit Spirale Ristorante. There’s a lot of dish you could try.
Take a look at the gallery below so you could have an idea about the prices and menu they offer. Happy Eating!
